How to block your stolen or lost mobile phone using IMEI number ?

Well its very unfortunate if your mobile phone gets lost or stolen but the first thing you should do after knowing that, is that to report your network service provider that your phone has been lost and you want to block or disable it. But how to do it??

For disabling or blocking your phone your network service provider will also need your mobile phone's IMEI number and provide that number to your network service provider.

What is IMEI number ?

IMEI is an abbreviation for International Mobile Equipment Identity, is a unique 15 digit IMEI code number given to every single mobile phone.

By reporting about the lost phone and by providing your mobile phone's IMEI number to your network service provider you can actually disable your lost phone to be used by anyone else and hence useless for him. Once you have provided your IMEI nmber to your network service provider, who can then put the serial number on a shared database. This list stops this particular phone from registering on any network and will be useless for anyone even if the mobile phone's SIM card is changed. Hence making it useless for anyone to use it.
